To continue with our health education promotion to our diverse African community in Belgium, FAAB vzw on 3rd December 2011 again organized a workshop on “HEALTHY LIVING” at Brede School-Prins Leopoldstraat 51, 2140 Antwerp, for its members and the general public.
The lecture was given by Dr. Nyarko a Ghanaian trained medical doctor who lives in Gent. He talked about how healthy eating affects our health and why we should try to avoid eating junky Foods.
After the lecture questions were invited from the participants which Dr. Nyarko answered to their satisfaction. Madam Griet Bonne (Coordinator of Faab vzw) presented a token to Dr. Nyarko on behalf of Faab in appreciation of his good services to the federation.
Madam Sonja Van Bockstaele (staff faab) and Madam Griet Bonne (Coordinator faab) showed the participants how to prepare delicious, healthy and simple snacks which were used for the reception with some drinks.
To round off the event Madam Sonja Van Bockstaele led the participants to a great physical exercise by dancing and singing round the hall. A pamphlet containing tips on HEALTHY LIVING was distributed to the participants.
Finally at about 5.30pm the event came to a close.
